What will a session be like? 

Your session will be casual and relaxed - there is no rush.  I typically allow 2-3 hours per session to allow time for clothing changes, diaper changes & feedings for babies, etc.

 

First, I'll take a few minutes to get to know those who will be in the portraits - this helps everyone to be relaxed and comfortable.  Then, if the session is in your home, I will take a quick look around your house to determine the best locations for lighting & background.   I will bring some props with me, but if you have a favorite piece of furniture, a child's favorite toy, etc., please let me know so I can incorporate that into your session.

What should I wear?

Maternity:  Most sessions are done indoors, but if you're up to it, we can venture outdoors for some fun, unique shots too!  Solid colors are best for maternity sessions.

 

Newborns:  Newborn sessions are best done before the baby is 2 weeks old.  These sessions take place indoors, preferably in the morning or late afternoon.  For babies, bare skin is always beautiful, but solid colors or 'calm' prints work well too.

 

Children:  Mom - Although I'm sure your children look ultra-cute in their little suits or frilly dresses, let's keep those outfits to a minimum, becuase we'll get the best shots when they are wearing something they are comfortable in.   Avoid shirts with characters, logos or large words on them.

 

Teens/Seniors:  Again - wear what makes YOU comfortable!  And bring along several changes of clothes for variety - there's no limit to the number of outfit changes during a session.

 

Couples/Families:  Don't worry about trying to make your outfits match - just make sure colors coordinate and avoid stripes or strong patterns.  Like any other session, feel free to bring along a few outfits for variety. 

 

The most important thing to remember:  Relax & Have Fun!!

 

 

 

I have scheduled an outdoor session, but what if the weather is bad?

 

Don't worry...We can reschedule your session for another day at no additional charge.

 

 

When will I get to see my proofs?

 

Your proofs will be available in our password protected client proofing area within 2 weeks of your session.  You will be sent an email with your password once your proofs are ready.  If you do not have email, we can schedule a day and time for to meet with you to view your proofs online (either at my in-home studio or at a local coffee shop).

 

 

When do I pay?  What forms of payment do you accept?

 

Session fees are due at the time of booking unless otherwise noted.  Please see Session Fees  for details.  Print order payment is due at the time of order.

Cash, Personal Check and Credit Cards are accepted.
